ABOUT

Safari Lee

I love supporting people through therapy to explore their experiences, their challenges, and their triumphs. I welcome you to share your thoughts and emotions openly in this safe and accepting space. We can meet online from anywhere in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, or in my Sydney office.

I have a friendly, person-centred approach, and use well-established, evidence-based methods to help you achieve positive and lasting change and the best care possible. These include existential and humanistic approaches, including Solution-focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Pain Reprocessing Therapy (pain), and the Gottman Method (relationships) among others.

I’ve worked in helping professions for more than twenty five years, including as an assistant in nursing, and social educator. I belong to professional associations and research networks and am a passionate lifelong learner as demonstrated in my qualifications listed on this page, and I am continually exploring the most helpful practices. I am a proud advocate and ally of LGBTQIA+, kink and sex-worker communities and diverse relationships are welcome.

I have personal lived experience with injury and illness. This allows me to understand the impacts our health can have on our lives, including our relationships, our ability to work, and the way we see ourselves. In acknowledging this, I appreciate each of us has our own experiences and journey.

When I have spare time, I have fun making quirky artwork and music. I believe in the wonder of creativity and its ability to reveal so much about us that we otherwise mightn’t discover.
